Ex-Philadelphia Rapid Transit 5326, built by Brill in 1923, is a good example of lightweight streetcar construction, seen here on August 10 2002. In the background is ex-Pittsburgh Railways PCC 1711.
The lights (which are not permanently mounted) were to allow better visibility for the operators when the cars were operating at night to and from the Washington County Fair.
These were city cars and the headlight was not meant for the prw tracks that make up most of the museum trackage. A similar light arrangement was affixed to New Orleans 832 for that week.
During the rest of the year, operation is during daylight hours and this is not a problem
