Ex-Virginian 135 is an EL-C type ignitron-rectifier electric locomotive, built by General Electric in 1956, seen here on May 30 2001. After the Virginian was absorbed into the Norfolk & Western and the electrification abandoned, 135 and its sisters were sold to the New Haven, and 135 was renumbered to 304, an EF-4 type locomotive. After the creation of Conrail, it was renumbered to 4604, an E-33 type locomotive. After retirement it was restored to its original conditon and donated to the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia, where it is still on display.
