69 on the D line at Beverly and Bonnie Brae on July 20 1947. The reason that you see only low numbered sowbellies on the D line is generally that four-motor cars were numbered below 100.
The D line was quite hilly on the west side, including the murderous hill on 5th from Olive to Grand, so four-motor cars were really required.
(Most of the) high numbered sowbellies were two-motor cars, and worked suitably level lines such as the V, except for the V line murderous hill from Washington to Venice Blvd
What a sight to see the two motor sows and standards try that hill, as it was a good deal longer than the 5th St hill.
