Scene of an interurban on the bridge over the Illinois Central/Michigan Central tracks in Matteson, Illinois, probably in the 1910-1915 era showing the IC Matteson station, the Michigan Central ground level interlocker tower, and the IC interchange track with the interurban.  When the IC elevated its tracks through the area in the 1920s, the interurban could not afford to replace its bridge (additionally it was in financial trouble), thus hastening its demise (the MC trackage remained at ground level until the 1960 when those tracks were abandoned and torn up).
