1161 on 49 Beltzhoover outbound on New Arlington returning to double track near Warrington on April 24 1960. This is the former 46 Brownsville route. After the opening of the 3900-foot Mt Washington Tunnel on a 6 percent grade, the 49 line could be used as a run around between South Hills Jct and downtown Pittsburgh in the event of problems in the tunnel 40-Broadway is not a Pittsburgh route, thus identifying this as the April 24 1960 charter.
