On the April 24 1960 charter, 1161 passes over Mt Lebanon Blvd a short distance from Clearview Loop inbound on the 38A . Double-end shuttle cars operated Clearview to Castle Shannon and return until the very early 1950s when they were terminated. After that only certain rush hour trips of the 38-Mt.Lebanon were extended to Castle Shannon and back. Interurban cars also used the 38 and 38A to route and Car House in both rush hours to avoid congestion on the single track through Overbrook.
