The face of the PE: the only remaining example of the 57 Pacific Electric 1000-series interurban coaches known collectively as Tens, 1001 is seen here on August 7 2004. These were the last wooden interurbans built for PE, constructed by Jewett in 1913. They were later supplanted by steel Elevens and Twelves and eventually by Blimps, but car 1001 was saved and in 1948 was rebuilt as rail grinder 00199. the OERM acquired it in 1954.
