A Birney car pokes outside the Hochelaga carhouse. It must be in for repairs because the trolley pole, retriever wire and retriever are missing from this end of the car. Montreal bought 14 Birney cars second hand from the City of Detroit Department of Street Railways. The cars built by Brill in 1919, were assigned even numbers in the 200 class (200 to 226). Seven were scrapped with another three being sold to Levis, Quebec, a town across the St. Lawrence River from Quebec City. In later years, car 200 was used as a traveling billboard car carrying large advertisements for various events and merchandise.
